Penffynnon House West Wales - Complete Refurbishment
The oldest part of the house dates back to the 18th Century and would have consisted of 3 rooms to sleep and live.
This is a current ongoing project. The much later extension, as bad as it is, more than doubles the size of the house making it 3 large bedrooms with a good size kitchen and living spaces. The garden is 60 meters long and has 4 outbuildings and a small orchard. The potential is huge.
The house doesn’t look much at the moment but when our vision is achieved it will be transformed into an amazing spacious 4 bed home.

This is what we did:
- Strip the house to a bare state
- Uncover period features
- Restore oak beams and Inglenook fireplace
- Dig out ground floor and level
- Put in new floors throughout ground floor
- Put in underfloor heating
- Restore original roof shape
- Remove extended roof and replace with new apex roof
- Create 4th bedroom in new Apex roof
- Re-wire and re-plumb whole house
- Put in new kitchen and bathrooms
- Extend to create a ground floor utility and bathroom
- Lay new floors
- Finish and decorate throughout
The site is very difficult to access making the project a much bigger challenge than most. However, the challenge is one we are excited to take on as the hard work we need to put in will be hugely rewarding when complete.
